ABOUT

The John & Susan Dewan Foundation

The John & Susan Dewan Foundation was founded in January 2000 following the sale of STATS, Inc., a sports information company founded by John and Susan in the 1980s. Through the foundation’s grant program, we provide hope and a future to people in poverty by supporting U.S.-based charitable organizations that help people to help themselves.

In the Chicago area, in addition to supporting educational attainment, the grant program helps people experiencing housing insecurity with case management, education, training and experience in preparation for stable housing and employment.

For USA-based organizations working internationally, the foundation supports education, job creation and economic development.

Grants are made only to public charities with tax-exempt status in the USA under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3).
